The Germ Defence website gives scientifically proven practical advice on how you can reduce the spread of coronavirus in the home. This project is endorsed by Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England. Please take a few minutes to look at the information provided.
Worried about Cancer?
If you are concerned about any new symptoms, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are open for routine and urgent appointments.
LATEST CORONAVIRUS ADVICE
We would like to reassure our patients that we are open as normal during this current period of national lockdown and will continue to provide the care and support you expect from our practice. Please call the surgery from 08:00am (weekdays) if you require an appointment and we will be able to arrange a telephone or video consultation with one of our doctors. If the doctor deems it necessary to see you in person, then a face to face consultation can take place at the surgery. Covid guidelines will obviously be adhered to and you will be required to wear a face covering.
Stay at home if you have either:
- a high temperature – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough – this means you've started coughing repeatedly
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.
You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.
Testing for coronavirus is not needed if you're staying at home.
How long to stay at home?
If you have symptoms, stay at home for 7 days
- If you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person showed symptoms
If you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days.
If you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.
